Custom Pergola Design Options: What RKOVE Can Customize

A premium pergola should not feel like a standard product placed in the yard. It should feel planned for the architecture, the climate, the view and the way people actually live outdoors.

Customization starts with the space

RKOVE can support project-specific pergola dimensions, layout direction and installation planning for patios, backyards, rooftops, pool decks, villas, resorts and hospitality spaces. Early planning usually starts with the available length, width, clear height, surrounding walls, ground surface and whether the pergola should be freestanding or attached to a building.

Size, layout and post planning

Pergola size can be adjusted around the project footprint, and larger spans may require additional structural posts. As an early planning rule, if the distance between two posts is greater than 19.7 ft / 6 m, RKOVE will review an additional post on that span. Customers can also plan two-post wall-mounted layouts, three-post corner layouts, freestanding four-post layouts or larger multi-post configurations depending on site conditions.

Frame color, roof color and surface finish

Color is one of the most visible customization decisions. RKOVE can plan classic architectural colors such as black, white, gray and bronze tones, and project color discussions can also reference RAL color direction or approved samples. The frame and roof do not always need to be the same color; many luxury projects use a darker frame with a lighter roof, or match the roof to surrounding architecture for a softer look.

Choose the roof behavior: C, E or S Series

Customization is not only visual. RKOVE C Series uses motorized rotating louvers for precise light, ventilation, shade and rain control. RKOVE E Series uses a motorized retractable roof for a more open-sky lifestyle. RKOVE S Series is the flagship direction for stronger project presence, premium accessories and larger residential or hospitality environments.

Side systems for privacy, wind and enclosure

Each side of the pergola can be planned differently. A project may use ZIP screens on the west side for sun and privacy, sliding glass doors on a view-facing side, and aluminum louver walls where a more architectural privacy screen is needed. Incompatible side systems should not be stacked on the same side, so the final layout should define which enclosure belongs on each face of the pergola.

Lighting, heating, fans and smart control

Comfort accessories help the pergola become a true outdoor room. RKOVE can plan integrated LED lighting, RGB ambience, heaters, fans, weather sensors, remote control and smart-control direction depending on the series and project requirements. For hospitality, resort and entertainment spaces, lighting scenes and comfort accessories are often as important as the roof itself.

ZIP screen fabric and privacy level

Windproof ZIP screens can also be planned by fabric type, openness factor, privacy need, view direction and color. A strong-sun side may need a denser fabric, while a view-facing side may use a more open fabric to preserve scenery. This is why RKOVE treats side screens as part of the project design, not just an accessory added at the end.

Installation details should be customized too

A well-designed pergola also depends on the ground condition. Concrete slabs, concrete footings and embedded steel anchors each require different preparation. RKOVE can review the installation surface, fixing method, post layout and drainage direction before final confirmation so the outdoor room is designed around real site conditions.

What to prepare before requesting a custom quote

For a more accurate recommendation, customers should prepare the project city, site photos, approximate dimensions, ground surface, preferred series, frame color, roof color, desired side systems, accessory list and any inspiration images. If the project is attached to a wall or installed on a rooftop, photos and measurements of the surrounding structure are especially useful.
